Initiative Process 

 1.  What is an initiative?

An initiative is a proposal to amend our Bylaws that is generated by the general membership of TFBC.

2.  Who can propose an initiative?

Any member in good standing as long as they have the required signatures on their petition.

3.  How do I place an initiative on the ballot at the Annual Meeting?

A.  Write a proposed amendment.

B.  Make sure the proposed amendment does not violate the law or attempt to change any existing TFBC covenants.

C.  Get at least 10% of the members in good standing to sign a petition supporting the initiative.  All petitions must contain the proposed amendment, signature, name, address and lot number of each signing member.

D.  Submit the petition to the TFBC Board of Directors no later than 60 days prior to the Annual Meeting.

E.  Your proposed amendment must be stated in clear and concise language and reference the clause, if any, that is being amended.

4.  Can the TFBC Board change or cause my initiative not to be placed on the ballot at the Annual Meeting?

No, this is strictly prohibited by the Bylaws.
