Short-Term Rental Policy

The TFBC Board of Directors views short-term rentals (VRBO’s, Air BnB, Etc.) as a business. Therefore, you would have to present a business plan and get approval from the board per our TFBC home based business guidelines. You would then have to show that your short-term rental business would not negatively impact TFBC (extra traffic, parking, noise, more beach use, etc.). If approved, you would then have to follow the renter registration policy and register the renters(names of all occupants, vehicle descriptions and license plate numbers) every time it was rented. You would also have to choose to give up your beach rights if renters would have them. Owners and renters both cannot have access to the beach property. Renters would need to be made aware of all TFBC rules and policies. We have found that most problems / violation of the TFBC rules are caused by non-members / renters. TFBC strictly follows our Bylaws / Rules and holds owners accountable for all actions of their renters, family members and guests.
